Ok, it is time for some more bourbon discussions. Here, we have one of my favorites. Ok, maybe I say that quite often but I really like most bourbons. Yet again, this bottle is half empty buy the time I get a chance to take a picture of it.

This is the bourbon I buy when I am with some folks and they say "I don't like bourbon". This bourbon is aged eighteen years. The aging removes almost any harshness from the bourbon. Elijah Craig eighteen year old might possibly be the smoothest bourbon that I have ever enjoyed. While I was drinking this bourbon, I did notice that this bourbon tastes almost oak like, somewhat like a wine that has been aged in an oak barrel. I guess eighteen years is about the longest a bourbon can be aged and not pick up too much of the oak flavor from the bourbon.

I highly recommend trying this bourbon. Just let me know when you would like to try some.

Not enough Bourbon

After watching the ECU game, there just is not enough bourbon to work this one out. The offense looked bad, and the defense looked slow.

This is a momentous day here at Alphageek headquarters. A bottle of bourbon has been emptied! This is both a happy occasion and a sad occasion. It is always difficult to say goodbye to a delicious bottle of bourbon, but it is also great to be able to cruise down to a liquor store and purchase some new bourbon to enjoy.

Pictured is a bottle of Baker's Bourbon. I purchased this because Mrs. Alphageek bought me a taste on a vacation and I really enjoyed this bourbon. It is smooth with an almost velvety taste. I think this makes an excellent gift idea for the bourbon consumer on any gift list.

I will be stocking up on Wild Turkey this week. After all, football season starts shortly. I may also purchase something new to kick off the football season.
